Drypoint on Rhenalon

with Helen Brown

Using a Rhenlon plate, which is a robust acetate, learn how to create intaglio prints without the use of acid. Using a drypoint needle, score into the surface of the plate to produce lines and marks that can be inked up in black or colour. The advantage of Rhenlon being that it is a transparent sheet, allowing images to be easily transferred from a photograph or personal sketches. Using multiple plates, you will learn to register and use Chine Colle to make colourful, layered images.

Materials – One sheet of Rhenalon, inks, cleaning materials, muslin, chine colle & glue are all included in the course fee.

Extra Rhenalon and paper are not included, these can be purchased from the studio.
